Oh boy. We are in for quite the storm this weekend here in NJ. I survived a trip to my grocery store yesterday but it was a jungle out there! We are bracing for up to 18 inches according to forecasters. That means Marc and I are going to be snowed in and I wanted to be prepared with lots of cold weather comfort food. We’ll need our strength for the shoveling, ha! These recipes are all so hot, satisfying and comforting. There are classic soups, stews, grilled cheese sandwiches and one of my all time favorite comfort food dishes, chicken parmigiana. There are also fun projects for lazy snow days like my mother-in-law’s homemade pierogi (which is the ultimate comfort food for Marc!) and handmade mint fettuccine with lamb ragu. To me, no snow day is complete without warm brown butter chocolate chunk cookies fresh out of the oven either. Here are all of the recipes in no particular order!
I hope these recipes help you all get through this snowy weekend and the rest of the Winter if you’re in the cold. May they provide some cold weather comfort! Please be safe if you’re in the storm area too. Pssst…all of these recipes pair well with wine or other hot drinks. Or wine. Did I mention wine? I may or may not have stocked up on a few bottles during my shopping. Cheers friends, and stay warm! xoxo
Be safe and warm my friend!!! Cheryl xoxoxo
