You guys, it’s over. I’m ruined for life now when it comes to donuts. Marc and I went to the Food Truck Fiesta at Mercer County Park on Saturday night and we had such a blast. I’ll be writing about a couple of the other individual trucks in the near future so stay tuned for that. Life is uncertain though, so I’m starting with dessert first! The Undrgrnd Donuts truck has become a huge sensation fairly close to me in the Philadelphia area. It’s about a 45 minute drive that I never really have time to make though, so I didn’t even know about the Undrgrnd Donuts truck until they thankfully came to Mercer County Park about 8 miles from my house!
There was a reason why the line at the Undrgrnd Donuts truck was so long. They come out warm and so fluffy with incredible flavors. We sampled three of the flavors and each donut was heaven. Marc and I had a moment where we just looked at each other while we were eating them and couldn’t even find words. We were rendered speechless by how good they were (except for the occasional Mmmm of course). There was The Homer, which was dunked in vanilla then topped with raw sugar and bacon (we had to get two of those). The Captain Kranky was dunked in strawberry then topped with that childhood favorite Captain Crunch. Monkey chunk was dunked in banana and then topped with M & M’s. Since the donuts were warm everything was just gloriously gooey. There are so many other flavors too that I can’t wait to try. What, you think 45 minutes is going to scare me from heading into Philly once in a while now just to have one of these amazing donuts? Ha, think again! Plus, I’m keeping all fingers and toes crossed that they will be back at Mercer Park for the next festival. Even though it was a long line it moved quickly, and we had our donuts quickly after we ordered too. If you are ever in the area, find the Undrgrnd Donuts truck and have the best donut you will ever have! Here’s the website to check them out further and see where they are parked for the day: http://www.undrgrnddonuts.com/
That’s all I have to say about that…time to go day dream about donuts. xoxo
Hi Leigh, fun donuts! Crazy combos? Bacon on a donut? I love donuts-I love bacon just I don’t know about together? Interesting concept. Cheryl
Oh my goodness, Cheryl you have to try these. Salty bacon is so good with sweet things, they bring out the best in each other. You also have to try chocolate covered bacon, it’s the best my friend!! 🙂
