Joints Of Meat

A roast chicken is probably one of the easiest things to make, quite literally marinade it with whatever flavors you like, put it in the oven for a couple of hours and the meat will be falling off the bone when you are serving it. You can do many things with roast chicken, you could make sandwiches with it, you can have it with salad or veg, and you could even make a soup with it. Don’t forget if you wanted to you could use the chicken carcass to make a broth or the base of chicken gravy, a lot of flavor is left over in the bones.

Tenderloin pork is another great choice of meat. It is the healthiest and leanest piece of pork available so that makes it a great choice when you want to make a healthy meal that everyone will enjoy. You could make a delicious pork loin marinade and let it sit before cooking so the flavors absorb. Grill it or throw it in the slow cooker then serve it with vegetables or salad.

Chicken Fajitas

Chicken fajitas are a family favorite, they are packed so full of flavor and are very filling. You can use chicken, peppers, and onions with a fajita sauce all in one pan, so a bonus you save on the clearing away and washing up. If you haven’t got chicken or you fancy something different then you can swap the chicken for steak and do steak fajitas as well, which are equally as delicious.

Children love having fajitas as they can serve themselves and feel all grown up while doing it. You can use tortilla wraps or if you want to go even healthier you can swap out the wraps and use whole lettuce leaves instead. Use the lettuce as a bowl, fill with fajita mix and then wrap it up the same way you would when you have wraps.

Lasagne

If you have some mince in the fridge and are a little tired of doing the same meal over, usually chili then you could do something a bit different and opt for a lasagne. Lasagne is packed full of goodness and is vitamin-rich with all the veg used. You can use anything you like in a lasagne, usually onions and peppers but some have been known to use carrots and mushrooms. You can make your own cheese sauce as an alternative to buying one, this will be healthier as it won’t be packed with preservatives.

If you want to go even healthier then instead of using pasta sheets you can use whole cabbage leaves to cover the mixture. These give a completely different taste but a delicious one.

We hope this helps give you some ideas about what you can cook, the basic ingredients you need, and any healthy alternatives available.
