Lavender Lemonade

I mean, is it even summer until you’ve had a freshly made, icy glass of lemonade? To me it’s not. Homemade lemonade is really easy to make and it is one of my absolute favorite summer drinks. It is especially perfect to put out in pitchers for get togethers. This time I made it a bit more fancy with the addition of ground lavender. Lavender and lemon is such an incredible combination, and the lavender gave the lavender lemonade such lovely color.

First, I made the simple syrup base for this lovely drink. Water, sugar, lavender infused honey, and ground lavender all gently boiled together for a few minutes to dissolve the sugar and really develop flavor. Then I covered it to steep for 15 minutes. That allowed all of it to infuse together so beautifully.
While the syrup steeped, I simply combined lots of water and freshly squeezed lemon juice in my favorite pitcher. Then I poured the syrup right into the pitcher through a fine mesh strainer so that all of the ground lavender would be strained out. After I gave it a stir, it was all done!

I added in lots of lemon slices on top and let the pitcher chill in the refrigerator for a few hours. Then it was ready for sipping on the back porch! Oh my goodness, the addition of the lavender really made it taste luxurious and fancy. It was so refreshing too in some cute mason jars. Hope you all love this wonderful drink too! xoxo

Ingredients
  • 6 cups water divided
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup lavender infused honey (available online and in most grocery stores)
  • 3 tablespoons ground lavender
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 whole lemon thinly sliced, for garnish
Instructions
  1. Get out a small sauce pan and combine 2 cups of the water, the sugar, honey and ground lavender in it. Bring it to a gentle boil and let it bubble for about 5 minutes while you whisk it to help the sugar and honey dissolve into the water. Take it off the heat and cover it with its lid to steep for 15 minutes. While it steeps, combine the remaining quart of water and the lemon juice in a pitcher. When the syrup is done, pour it into the pitcher through a fine mesh strainer to catch all of the lavender. Give it a stir and add in the slices of lemon on top. Let it sit in the refrigerator for 3 hours to chill, then serve and enjoy!!
