Holiday Baking

I absolutely love Holiday baking and giving out homemade gifts. It’s a way for me to really give from the heart and put something of myself into it. Every year the operation gets bigger and bigger! It began with about five dozen cookies in a day when I started Holiday baking ten years ago or so and this year it ballooned up to about twenty-four dozen cookies, four dozen Lebanese pastries and a tray of baklava. It took the whole weekend and I was covered in flour for a few days, ha! Don’t even ask how my kitchen looked. Suffice it to say it was a disaster zone. On the bright side, our house smelled like Christmas the entire weekend. I loved every minute. So I’ve rounded up all of my favorite cookies and pastries that I love to bake this time of year (and all year)! Here they are in no particular order.

All of these recipes have a special place in my heart and are so perfect for Holiday baking. This year I made the gingerbread fairies, kiffles, peanut butter cookies, snickerdoodles, lebanese pastry and baklava. There was something for everyone! It’s been so fun giving out packages of them to my neighbors, friends, and loved ones. I mailed the treats in sturdy tins so that they wouldn’t (hopefully) break too much in transit. Pretty treat bags made the perfect packaging for the ones I gave in person. I hope this list gives you yummy ideas for homemade gift giving my friends. That’s what this season is all about! xoxo
